How to Farm
GW consists of 7 rounds.
The first two are colloquially refered to as meat farming. For most players, this round consists of farming out Extreme or Extreme+ to get host mats for the raids of Finals. In the first round, Preliminaries, all honor is counted to both crew and individual honors. In the second, Interlude, honors only count towards individuals. Farming preliminaries is a lot more important for this reason where interlude can often be skipped unless ranking. NM90 is also available these days but will usually be ignored by everyone but the top rankers due to the small honors it provides for it’s meat cost.
The bulk of GW is the four rounds of Finals. In this stage, teams go head to head to see who can get more honors during the round period. These rounds introduce Nightmare raids which uses the meat farmed during the previous rounds. Day 1 introduces NM95, Day 2 brings NM100 and NM150, and Day 3 provides the final fight NM200. While the best players will aim for the highest level every day, the general rule for all players is to farm whatever stage nets you the most honors per hour. So for example, if your best NM200 takes more than 3.25 times longer than NM150, it would be better to run NM150. The other main meta concern of this round is meat usage. It is helpful to both set meat usage goals and limits for each round so that you can both meet your individual goals as well as retain meat for the later rounds with a much higher honors/meat ratio.
The final round is Final Rally, a rematch against the GW boss with your whole crew. The fight is generally not notable in terms of diffculty and can easily be FA’d or refresh spammed.
Notable Changes This Year
The biggest change for Light in the last year has by far been the introduction of new weapons.
The recent release of M3 is a major upgrade for Omega grids. Particuarly, Luminiera Bolt Credo has provided an easy way to max cap up without relying on any gacha weapons. Luminiera Saber Credo is also notable due to providing a lot of TA making it a strong slot for OTK or NM95 for reaching 100% TA on all allies.
Zeus also recieved a very strong Grand weapon Efes. It is light’s exalto weapon and provides damage amp on critical hits. With Mugen (Halloween)’s 100% teamwide crit, the grid itself is free to ignore the crit requirement for burst setups. For FA, you’d want to slot in a pair of Ivory Arks instead.
World weapons recieved an FLB that make them usable outside Arcarum as well as adding a form of cap up via awakenings. The most notable of these when it comes to this GW is Worldscathing Leon. This provides 8% normal attack amp and 10% normal cap to gun and katana users. This makes it a must slot for both Relic Buster and Soldier setups. Outside them, it doesn’t hit enough characters to be worth slotting.
Thankfully that’s where the Revan weapon Concordia comes in. The weapon provides 5% normal cap up while also having a strong ATK mod via awakenings. This makes it a great slot for the teams in which the World Harps can’t be used like Viking or Luchador.
Character wise there hasn’t been too much of major changes. When it comes to burst, the main notable releases are more characters that provide side A echoes but none that top the current best choices. For FA things get more interesting. There are new characters with frequent dispels in Cosmos and Utsusemi. Another new character is Yurius (Summer) who is an excellent debuffer and healer, He will likely be an excellent NM200 slot thanks to him healing and removing a debuff whenever you land 5 debuffs in a turn. Illnott (Holiday) has a strong passive that deals skill damage after ally normal attacks. Additionally whenever she CAs, she resets her delay and disepl as well as packing dispel. And last but not least to mention is Sandalphon. He provides a backline 20% boost to light weapon skills which means slotting him backline in any setup is going to improve it. Frontline wise he is more notable as a strong attacker for FA setups and probably won’t see much use for burst except for being an echo buffer option.
Weapons
Luminiera
To start, let us cover the weapons needed for Luminiera grids. This section will be divided between the original Pre M3 drop analysis with minor alterations and one for the new M3 weapons. M3 adds more you want to get instead of fully replacing the utility of existing items.
General
- 3-5 Luminiera Sword Omegas
- 2-3 Luminiera Harp Omegas
- 3 Pillar of Flame
- 1 Sword of Pallas Militis
- 1 Cosmic Sword
- 1 True Purity Sunblade
- 3 ATK Harsiesiss
- 2 ATK Harakhtes
- 1 Worldscathing Leon
- 1 Shooting of The Star
- 1 Gateway-Star Sword or 1 Fantasia-Realm Harp
- 1 Harp of Everlore
- 1 Sword of Renunciation
M3
Pre-M3
Luminiera Sword Omegas and Luminiera Harp Omegas are the main mod slots available for magna light pre-M3. Swords are the standard mod slot for pure magna players. It is once the user gets a Harmonia that harps replace swords for burst grids. Swords are also generally more useful for FA thanks to having an HP mod as well.
A single Pillar of Flame or Mittron’s Bow is a solid option to pair in these grids to add stam. For sword grids, Sword of Pallas Militis and Cosmic Sword are the typical pairs for additional mod and cap up respectively.
True Purity Sunblade is the typical go to mainhand for Relic Buster setups thanks to the stam mod it provides as a mainhand.
When it comes to cap up, the two basic sources are Cosmic Sword and Shooting of The Star. The former is the go to for sword grids and will basically always be slotted for them. If you managed to get a celestial weapon from last GW, those will also be slotted for cap up. Gateway-Star Sword would be better for sword grids and Fantasia-Realm Harp for harp grids.
For the world weapons, the most useful will generally be Worldscathing Leon] due to boosting the autos of relic buster setups. For non RB setups, they see limited usage due to types being too restrictive for its characters. I would get all the harps anyways to prepare for future character releases that might cause them to be slotted.
Now onto weapons locked behind rank 200.
- 1 Ultima Claw (Light)
- 1 Ultima Axe (Light)
- 1 Ultima Staff (Light)
- 1 Ultima Gun or 1 Ultima Sword
- 2 ATK Concordia Mk II
- 2 DEF Symmetria
- 0-1 Radiance of Insightful Rebirth
The highest priority is getting a ULB Ultima. Light wants a lot of ultimas for its different setups. Ultima Gun and Ultima Sword are the go to for Relic Buster setups. Ultima Claw (Light), Ultima Axe (Light), Ultima Staff (Light) are also both very useful as mainhands or aux weapons for Luchador, Viking, and Manadiver. It will need to be light to do so but if you won’t be running any of those methods you can ignore them.
When it comes to the Revan weapons, the primary goal will be to get 2 ATK Concordia Mk IIs. They will both be good as manadiver mainhand as well as the additional cap up for non RB setups. The DEF awakening on Symmetria makes it a solid option for FA even with its skills being generally useless in magna.
And lastly the draconic weapon will be used for the fastest FA setups for NM200.
And from the gacha there are a few weapons of note.
- 1-2 Harmonias
- 0-1 Gambanteinn or 0-1 Certificus]
Getting two Harmonias is definitely the highest priority even at 0*. The supplemental and cap up at FLB they provide are very valuable and will be a requirement for many setups. Gambanteinn and Certificus] are great ATK and cap up slots though I wouldn’t consider it a priority bar. But if you have one already uncapped and awakened you’ll see good use from it.
Post-M3
The release of the Omega Rebirth series of weapons has proved to be a major boost for Omega grids.
The most important of these weapons is Luminiera Bolt Credo. The bolt is very notable thanks two skills. It has the Omega version of Exalto which provides a 20% to Luminiera weapon skills. The second is Vivifivation which is a new skill that boosts attack and dmg cap based on the number of weapons that have at least one Knightcode skill on it.
Typically one will aim for three of these. With three, it is very easy to reach the 20% max cap up. More advanced players will want to seek out five of them. The reasoning for this is that the keys from Dark Rapture Zero require 280% aura to activate. With a single max transcend Luminiera boost (170%), 5 bolts (100%) and backline Sandalphon (20%) this will reach the needed 280%.
The second weapon up is Luminiera Saber Credo. These are very strong TA weapons providing 20.79% TA with only the 170% boost from a single Lumi. Two of the katanas with three guns bumps it all the way to 50%. If you go double Lumi it reaches the 75% grid based TA cap. This results in them being excellent for both OTK and NM95 where being able to reach teamwide 100% TA without any button presses is highly valuable. More so that it also frees up the characters you can use. You’ll want to have two of them.
The last one is definitely the weakest but that doesn’t mean it is weak. pillar-of-flame become a much stronger weapon thanks to only needing two to cap crit with double Lumi and three with single Lumi and backline Sandalphon. It is now both a great damage source for FA and single sided burst setups. Beyond this, the most it affects the other weapons you want is reducing the number of swords and harps required.
Zeus
Next up we’ll cover Zeus grids.
- 2 Harmonias
- 3 Efes
- 2 Imperious Fury
- 2 of any: Edens, ATK Gambanteinns, ATK Gambanteinns
- 2 ATK Concordia Mk IIs
- 1 Fantasia-Realm Harp
- 1 Gateway-Star Sword
- 1 Sword of Renunciation
- 1 Sword of Repudiation
- 1 Harp of Everlore
- 1 Ultima Claw (Light)
- 1 Ultima Axe (Light)
- 1 Ultima Gun
FA Specific
- 2 Ivory Arks
- 2 Radiant Rinnes
- 2 DEF Symmetrias
- 0-1 Radiance of Insightful Rebirth
The core for light grids are Harmonias and Efes. Harmonia has 50k supp and 7% cap which makes it an immediate must slot. Efes is the Exalto release for Light and has damage amp that occurs on critical hits. When it comes to burst setups, the 100% crit is best achieved by using Mugen (Halloween) to provide partywide crit rather than sacrificing grid pieces for it. In FA, you’ll need to use Ivory Arks to achieve it instead.
Next up we have Imperious Fury. Furies are excellent sources of special cap up for single sided Zeus setups. For FA they are also great due to providing lots of HP and defense. The main limiting factor of them is the HP requirement of Vitality being very restrictive. They are unviable for unboosted setups which will see greater use at the higher Nightmare difficulties.
are the best primal mod slot. They recieved an MA awakening that helps push out 10% more TA to help cut buttons on top of their raw damage. Similarly, Gambanteinns held a strong place in Fury setups thanks to the TA boost helping to reach 100% TA to allies. They were also great slot in general thanks to the 5% cap they provide and the raw strength of ATK awakening. This year, the likely setup will be one of each. Another source of cap up is Certificus which is another solid option.
There is also one relevant 150 GM weapon to light.
Ura is a very solid weapon for light burst setups thanks to both its 30% normal amp and counter damage. Last year it was used in all the fastest setups except for the NM200 solo. However, it is far from neccesary to do well for light GW and is ultimately a weapon for light enthusiats. Upcoming changes may affect how valuable it is.
Characters
Burst
Light burst setups typically revolves around strong teamwide buffers to turn everyone into damage dealers. The main exceptions are the ones that have targeted buffs instead. When creating a team, it will generally be of the format Buffer A, Buffer B, and Nehan.
Below I divded the main characters into two categories. General refers to characters that can be plugged together without issue. Side A refers to characters with Side A echoes. What that means is their echoes won’t stack. So while you can pair any two general characters together, you can only put one Side A character in. I also gave Nehan his own category because there is no light burst without him.
- Nehan
- Light’s core burst character. Without him there is no light burst.
- Provides 30% perp ATK, 50% echoes, and 50k supp to team on one button, GTA on another, and double strike on the third.
- Main downside is his buffs don’t affect him at all so some setups will need to find another way to buff him so he isn’t completely dead weight after his very strong skills are cast.
- Mugen (Halloween)
- Light’s second best buffer next to Nehan and also pairs extremely well with Nehan.
- Provides 30% light atp up, 100%/20% crit, 15% cap up, and 20% damage amp as well as 20% echoes per 30% HP lowered stack.
- 40% echoes in the typical amount Nehan and Mugen burst.
- Crit is also essential for Efes grids thanks to its ability to activate the crit amp.
- Also his skill 3 Mugen (Halloween)3 makes him a great attacker if the need arises.
- Florence (Halloween)
- Has a targetable one turn assassin which forms the core of many setups most notably Relic Buster thanks to its ability to spam instant assassin boosted attacks with Blitz Raid
Attack without using up a turn.
(Consumes 1 Machine Cell.) . - Her skill Casa dei Fantasmi
Grant a Light ally Instant Charge and end cooldown for skills.
(Consumes 5 Aurora Crest.) has the ability at five crests to reset an ally’s skill cooldowns. While setting up for five crests is not worth it for most bursting, for NM200 it is essential.
- Has a targetable one turn assassin which forms the core of many setups most notably Relic Buster thanks to its ability to spam instant assassin boosted attacks with Blitz Raid
Attack without using up a turn.
- Jeanne d’Arc (Grand)
- Jeanne is a great option for cutting buttons in any setup thanks to her passive 10% echo to ally TAs . The echo also stacks with all other echoes in light.
- She is also key to Viking and Lucha setups in NM150 for her teamwide assassin and damage cap up.
- Ferry (SSR)
- Ferry is the best Side A buffer with the main drawback requiring the team to be at 100% charge.
- With Falsehood opus this limits her to either Strike Time setups or using support Huanglong.
- With Temptation or another key you can also press her skill 1 Vergiften
250%-350% Light damage to all foes (Damage cap: ~1,160,000).
All allies gain Charge Boost (40%).
Level 95:
Damage increased to 350%.
All allies also gain Dispel Cancel (1 times). instead to reach 100%.
- Particularly what makes her the best Side A echo buffer is that she also provides4 turns of 100% to everyone including Nehan, 10% perp ATK and 15% normal stam to allies via her passive, and skill damage after her normal attacks.
- Ferry is the best Side A buffer with the main drawback requiring the team to be at 100% charge.
FA
- Sandalphon
- Sandalphon offers some strong teamwide buffs via his skill 1 Entrusted Resolve including 20% echoes, 30% DEF up, and a 1 turn cut to debuff durations at the end of turn,
- He also becomes a very strong damage dealer once he has both his skill 1 and 3 buffs and gains 4 hit flurry as well as being able to spam his instant attack twice in a turn.
- Two main difficulties with him is that he needs his skill 3 to come off cooldown to reach full potential and his Skill 1 buff will be difficult to maintain before then. The third is with his long cooldowns it won’t be until 12 turns he can cast his skill 1 again.
- Cosmos
- Cosmos is an excellent CA focused damage dealer particuarlly for higher levels.
- She dispels on CA once she has her skill 3, Since she also gains perma CA reactiviation this means she’ll double dispel every CA turn which will more than likely be super strong for NM200.
- As well she deals skill damage after normal attacks with that buff.,
- Yurius (Summer)
- Yurius is a debuffer and healer who will likely be used in all the top NM200 setups.
- Each turn he casts his skill 1
Inflict ATK Lowered (Stackable) (10% (40% Max), 180s), DEF Lowered (Stackable) (10% (40% Max), 180s), and a Yurius (Summer)#Feeler Formation|random debuff on all foes.
(Consumes 10% of charge bar.) which applies stackable ATK and DEF down as well as one random debuff, - With two more debuffs inclicted by any ally, he’ll auto cast his skill
6-hit, 100% Light damage to all foes (Damage cap: ~135,000 per hit).
Restore all Light allies’ HP (Healing cap: 1500).
Remove 1 debuff from all Light allies.
(Based on highest debuff count among all foes: Hit number increases [Max: 10 hits].) which deals damage, heals, and removes a debuff from all allies. - On top of this he also packs a double dispel.
- Illnott (Holiday)
- Illnott deals skill damage after ally normal attacks. The hit counts affected on it are dependant on the number of red skills pressed with her reaching max stacks once 7 red skils are pressed.
- Also strong for buffing skill damage via her debuff that includes 10k (30k max) stackable supp damage taken and providing 20% skill cap and 1 turn cut to red skill cooldowns when she has her skill 3 buff Dope.
- She also packs veil, double delay, and double dispel at max stacks.
- Vira (Grand)
- Despite being listed as a defense character due to being a tank, she deals enough damage to be considered a tank too especially thanks to her super strong CA nuke that also dispels for up to two dispels a turn when she has her CA reactivation.
Backline
- Sandalphon
- 20% boost to Omega and Optimus skills.
- Geisenborger FLB
- Caps incoming damage at 10k and provides 2% (10% max) stackable cap up.
- Halluel and Malluel (Summer)
- 4k supp (20k max) per crest.
- Percival (Light)
- 10% skill dmg (50% max) and 2% skill cap (10% max) per crest.

Example Grids
Here are a few examples of weapon configurations for this year.
Relic Buster
Relic Buster returns as being one of the main classes for people again this year. Relic Buster setups work best by aiming for high levels of cap up but its also important to be able to reach that cap up due to the relative low level of strength of Florence’s assassin.
With the release of M3 weapons, Lumi grids have shifted a fair deal. Below are three examples of configurations with them. Luminiera Bolt Credos can easily max the cap up in grid making them a great option for it. Additionally since the majority of damage in RB setups comes from one character, slotting Worldscathing Leon for the cap up and amplified is a major damage increase.
For Zeus RB, the main change comes from slotting in Efes. If you don’t have 3, you can slot in another Fury, Gamba, Cert, or Eden.
Soldier
The other main class I want to highlight is Soldier. It is a new option available that may prove strong especially for Lumi players. The new bolt has a pretty solid bullet layout that combined with Florene’s assassin can deal a lot of damage quickly. Zeus bullets are shown slotted here but it can be any Aetherial IV bullet.
Full Auto
Below are some examples of Full Auto configuations for this year.
Magna
For most fight, the go to strategy will be using Manadiver thanks to its large skill damage and teamwide echoes. A basic example of Manadiver with the new M3 weapons is below. The Sephira staff is very weak as a mainhand so replace it with a better option like Concordia if available.
And to show a more advanced version with the better mainhand. Since this has enough boost for a Faa Zero key, those can be slotted too. Otherwise can use another key if its not available.
quwatoro created this grid in a stream for NM200. This uses a lot more defensive tools so its a large drop in damage, but provides a lot of survivability for what will likely be a hard hitting raid.
As for Zeus, Radiant Rinnes will be slotted in for the skill damage boost as well as Ivory Arks both for the CA echoes as well to activate Efes. If running a more normal attack focused setup, you would drop the Rinnes for more Efes or Furies.
