This is a brief overview of notable earth characters. This does not include every usable earth character.

Burst

Here is a quick overview of characters that are useful for Burst setups.

Overview

Attacker

Characters who’s primary purpose on teams is to deal lots of damage.

Darker than Dusk
Close of Dawn / Together as Ever
And Ever
  • One of Earth’s main attackers especially for longer bursts.
  • Deals 2 hit split normals when she has 12 buffs or more.
  • Her skill 2 Close of Dawn / Together as Ever provides a strong set of buffs including skill damage after normal attacks to her and the ally in the next position. This is further upgraded on the second press of it while also giving her a one hit assassin and ending her skill cooldowns.
  • Instant ATK with echo on her skill 3 And Ever .
  • Her skill 1 Darker than Dusk will be very valuable for UnF thanks to its Terror debuff.

Upheaval
Earth Crash III
Uriel Piledriver
  • Triple red skill attacker/support hybrid.
  • Provides strong teamwide buffs on his skill 2 Earth Crash III including 20% echoes, 20% perpetuity ATK, and 20% skill cap up.
  • Deals a massive two hit nuke after normal attacks for every three red skills pressed.
    • Generally too clicky to get more than one activation off.
  • Skill 3 provides GTA and double strike at the cost of an excessively long animation.
    • I still think it is cool though…

Ethereal Prison
500% Earth damage to all foes (Damage cap: ~630,000).
Inflict Elemental Friction 5 (Accuracy: 200%, 5T) and Prison of War 2 (Accuracy: 90%, 2T).
Ecliptica
600% Earth damage to a foe (Damage cap: ~630,000).
Steal one of the tetra-elements.
(Inflict Fire ATK Lowered (30%, Accuracy: 100%, 180s), Water ATK Lowered (30%, Accuracy: 100%, 180s), Earth ATK Lowered (30%, Accuracy: 100%, 180s), or Wind ATK Lowered (30%, Accuracy: 100%, 180s) on a foe.
Gain Fire ATK Boosted (Can’t be removed) (30%), Water ATK Boosted (Can’t be removed) (30%), Earth ATK Boosted (Can’t be removed) (30%), or Wind ATK Boosted (Can’t be removed) (30%) based on the stolen element.)
The Vice
Remove all buffs from all other allies and foes.
Gain Instant Charge, C.A. DMG Boosted (Can’t be removed) (150%, 1T), and C.A. DMG Cap Boosted (Can’t be removed) (90%, 1T).
Four Primarchs’ Wings
30% Bonus DMG effect of each stolen element.
Buffs can’t be removed once Sandalphon has all the tetra-elements.

Can’t restore HP.
Takes 10% max HP damage every turn (Damage cap: 1000).
boost to critical hit rate (100), 20% boost to damage cap, 250% boost to DEF, and guaranteed double attacks.
Converts some types of turn-based damage to HP recovery.
  • Enables seraphic boost off element.
  • Solid 0B option for Glorybringer setups due to his passive 100/30 crit and 20% cap up.

  • Before attacking, she gains 20% bonus damage and 100% TA.
    • Only applies after hitting the Attack button. Does not apply to instant attack skills like Tag Team All allies instantly perform a normal attack without using up a turn. .

Spread Shot
6-hit, 100% Earth damage to random foes (Damage cap: ~60,000 per hit).
Inflict Debuff Resistance Lowered (Stackable) (10% (30% Max), Accuracy: 100%, 180s) and Earth Lowered (Stackable) (10% (30% Max), Accuracy: 100%, 180s) on all foes.
Gain Covering Fire (3T).
Bullet Dance
6-hit, 100% Earth damage to a foe (Damage cap: ~90,000 per hit).
Gain Dodge Rate Boosted (70%, 3T) and Hostility Boosted (+50, 3T).
Speedloader
Instantly perform a normal attack without using up a turn.
(Consumes 2 Barrel Stabilizer to end cooldown.)
Autoloader
+10 boost to hostility, guaranteed triple attacks, and normal attacks deal 3-hit damage to random foes.
Leave It to Cucouroux!
Upon dodging:
All allies gain ATK Boosted (Stackable) (4% (20% Max), Multiplier: Unique Stackable) and DEF Boosted (Stackable) (4% (20% Max)).
Add 1 Barrel Stabilizer to Cucouroux (Max: 5).
  • Excellent auto attacker thanks to split autos as well as having a a 6 hit nuker after autos activated by her skill 1 Spread Shot 6-hit, 100% Earth damage to random foes (Damage cap: ~60,000 per hit).
    Inflict Debuff Resistance Lowered (Stackable) (10% (30% Max), Accuracy: 100%, 180s) and Earth Lowered (Stackable) (10% (30% Max), Accuracy: 100%, 180s) on all foes.
    Gain Covering Fire (3T).

  • Great option for a 0 button character on burst setups like OTK or NM95.
  • Excellent damage dealer for Diaspora thanks in combination to her high hit counts, two debuffs per normal attack, and her Skill 2 being copyable by Caim.

Level 85:
Counter buff upgraded to Counters on Dodge/DMG (200%, 3 times, 3T).
Also gain Guaranteed TA (1T) and Full Hostility (Can’t be removed) (1T).
Ground Zero
Sacrifice 99% of caster’s current HP to deal plain damage to all foes (Damage cap: ~820,000).
Damage dealt is based on HP consumed.
Gain Shield (3000).
Level 95:
Also inflict Earth DEF Lowered (25%, Accuracy: ≥100%, 180s).
Damage cap increased to ~1,230,000.
Level 130:
Damage increased and damage cap increased to ~2,040,000.
When HP is below 25%: Also gain Tri-Slash (1T).
Three-Tiger’s Blessing
Gain C.A. Instant Standby, Autoignition (3T), and Tiger’s Blessing (280% ATK Up, 100% C.A. DMG Cap Up, Multiplier: Assassin, 1T). (Can’t recast.)

Berserk Forge

Level 85:
Before instantly performing a normal attack, also gain Guaranteed TA (1T) and Bonus Earth DMG (30%, 1T).
Ground Zero
Sacrifice 99% of caster’s current HP to deal plain damage to all foes (Damage cap: ~820,000).
Damage dealt is based on HP consumed.
Gain Shield (3000).
Level 95:
Also inflict Earth DEF Lowered (25%, Accuracy: ≥100%, 180s).
Damage cap increased to ~1,230,000.
Level 130:

Three-Tiger’s Blessing

Supernatural
Starts battle with Undying (Can’t be removed) (3 times).
Level 90:
Also supplement damage dealt by third hit of triple attacks (Damage cap: 300,000).
Ferox Tigris
Amplify (Seraphic modifier) damage against Water foes by 20%.
  • For burst she sees use both as a 0B damage dealer and an extended burst dealer.
  • As a 0B character:
    • She has a massive 300k supp damage applied to the third hit of her normal attacks.
    • This is further boosted by the 10% cap up, 5% normal cap up, and 10% normal amp from her Transcendance EMPS.
    • The main drawback as a 0B character is the lack of GTA.
  • As a longer burst character:
    • Her hard hitting normals pair great with the triple strike from Ground Zero Sacrifice 99% of caster’s current HP to deal plain damage to all foes (Damage cap: ~820,000).
      Damage dealt is based on HP consumed.
      Gain Shield (3000).
      Level 95:
      Also inflict Earth DEF Lowered (25%, Accuracy: ≥100%, 180s).
      Damage cap increased to ~1,230,000.
      Level 130:
      Damage increased and damage cap increased to ~2,040,000.
      When HP is below 25%: Also gain Tri-Slash (1T).
      for massive damage.
    • Starts in Axe Form which hinders both her usage in burst and ougis off FA. Longer burst strategies with her typically require her to ougi once to switch modes.
    • Sword Form offers 30% damage amp, 30% echoes, and a free instant attack from her skills.

Mind at Peace
Gain Substituted (All-Ally) (1T), Repel (99%, 1T), and Falling Mist (150%, Multiplier: Assassin, 1T).
Wild Butterfly
When Narmaya has Counter effect:
Guaranteed triple attacks.
Raise Eight Ways (Multiplier: Perpetuity) lvl by 1 upon countering (Max: 8).
(Boost to ATK (Perpetuity modifer) and DEF based on Eight Ways lvl.)
Fly, Fly Again
Starts battle with Lethal Attack Dodged (Can’t be removed) (1 times).
When Eight Ways lvl is at 8: Activate Perennial Beauty upon being targeted by a foe.
  • Older Earth burst damage dealer great for short turn bursts thanks to her 80% echo and one turn assassin.
  • Requires charge bar for her echoes which can be troublesome in S.Illnott comps.
  • Sees little use outside of burst strats.

Inflict ATK Lowered (Stackable) (10% (40% Max), Accuracy: 95%, 180s) and DEF Lowered (Stackable) (10% (40% Max), Accuracy: 95%, 180s).

Tiger’s Prosperity
450% Earth damage to a foe (Damage cap: ~635,000).

Twin Tiger Feng Shui
Gain Dodge All (1T), Substituted (All-Ally) (1T), and Twin Tiger Feng Shui (1T).
(Can’t attack. On next turn: Gain ATK Sharply Boosted (50%, Multiplier: Assassin, 1T) and Guaranteed TA (1T).)
Queen of Tigers
+10 boost to hostility, 20% hit to debuff resistance, 30% boost to ATK (Perpetuity modifier), and deal multiattacks.
Raise foe’s Tiger Tape (Accuracy: 200%) lvl by 1 upon triple attacks (Max: 5).
Reversal of Fortune
At end of turn if Cidala didn’t attack:
Restore HP (Healing cap: 2022) and remove all debuffs.
Gain Double Strike (1T) and Bonus Earth DMG (40%, 1T).
  • 40% echo, one turn assassin, and double strike, but requires one turn of setup where they can’t attack making them useless for 1T setups.
  • Still a good option for longer bursts especially compared to the other assassin characters.

Support

Characters who provide strong buffs to the party.

  • Earth’s current best buffer.
  • Is great for both shorter and longer bursts.
  • For Short Bursts:
    • Will need to aim for 10 yellow skills or 9 with three yellow presses on frontline to use her properly.
    • Provides 50% Earth ATK, 50% TA, 20% echoes, and 100k supp via her skill 2 Book of Sunlight, Page 19 .
    • With her Flavum stacks maxed due to yellow skills, she also gains 3 hit flurry.
  • For Long Bursts:
    • Will gain access to her skill 3 Book of Awakening, Page 999 .
      • It provides 100% TA, 30% ATK, 1 time 30% bonus damage, and 1 time 3 hit flurry to the entire party while also doing an instant teamwide attack.
    • The main restriction of her skill 3 is needing to max both her Rubrum and Flavum stacks. This requires careful selection of frontline skills in order to be able to effectively use her skill 3. It is also pretty heavy on button presses.

The Hanged Man’s Charity

  • Pre FLB, Caim has a lot of utlity both with Beginning of Joker: Copy an ally’s skill.

  • After FLB, he grants his card bonuses to all allies which makes him a powerful buffer especially for null element fights
  • His 4th skill as well offers a ton of utlity like a one turn assassin for bursts or green pot generation for solos.
  • Sees heavy use in NM200 and Diaspora as well as solos for SUBHL.
  • Double deal takes 3 turns to be ready but the ability to use any skill twice is incredible potent.
  • Skill 2 let’s Caim copy a skill which can vary in usage depending on the other characters available. Second usage of it grants the team all the buffs from Hanged Man’s call at once.
  • In Diaspora he is used frontline to let Vikala use her teamwide double strike twice and copy Cucouroux’s auto nuke.

Roaring Crew
All allies gain TA Up (100%, 4T) and Bonus Earth DMG (30%, 4T).

Summer Prank
When Illnott is a main ally at battle start: 40% boost to Earth allies’ charge bars.
Night Pool Graffiti
Gain 1 Piece when targeted by a foe’s attack (Max: 3).
  • Great for NM150 setups due to enabling teamwide TA and echoes.
  • 100% bar requirement is typically reached using Uriel, Uriel, or using the CA charge from strike time.
  • Applies an unclearable 50% ATK down, 50% DEF down, 100% TA down, 100% DA down, and 30k supplmental damage taken debuff for five turns for consistent damage and improved survivability.

Extend all allies’ White Raiment (Multiplier: Perpetuity) duration by 2 turns.
Sea Spray’s Mark
Inflict Sea Spray 2 (Accuracy: 100%, 2T) on all foes.
All Earth allies gain Salted Wound (Sea Spray) (30%, 1 times, Multiplier: Assassin, 1T) and Guaranteed TA (1T).
White Raiment
Gain White Raiment (Multiplier: Perpetuity, 5T).
(When cast from 10th turn onward: Affects all allies.)
Invigorate
Fill 1 charge diamond on a foe.
All allies gain Charge Bar (30%), C.A. DMG Boosted (1 time) (30%), and C.A. DMG Cap Boosted (1 time) (10%).

Embellished Flowing Yukata
+4% boost to Earth allies’ DEF per turn passed (Max: 40% at 10 turns).
If turn 10 or later: 1-turn cut to Pholia’s skill cooldowns upon using charge attack.
A Healthy Helping of Leisure
(10%) effect.
Chance to remove 1 debuff from Pholia at turn start.
  • Her skill 1 Sea Spray’s Mark Inflict Sea Spray 2 (Accuracy: 100%, 2T) on all foes.
    All Earth allies gain Salted Wound (Sea Spray) (30%, 1 times, Multiplier: Assassin, 1T) and Guaranteed TA (1T).
    grants teamwide 1 hit assassiin and GTA and inflicts her own version of Terror
    • Basically a character version of Shiva call making her excellent for a high damage turn.
    • GTA will override 100% TA from sources like Illnott.

Restore 20% of Earth allies’ HP (Healing cap: 4000).
2-turn cut to Earth allies’ debuff durations.

Activate Yintopian Bounty.
Rats Away
All Earth allies gain Dodge All 1 (1 times) through the power of stuffed rats.
(Consumes 25% of caster’s max HP.)
Yintopian Bounty
Other Earth allies gain Double Strike (1T).
Self-inflict C.A. Sealed (Can’t be removed) (3T).
Mousy Retreat
Switch out with a sub ally.
(When Vikala switches with an Earth ally:

Bereft of Ears
Can’t normal attack, Into Hiding (Won’t be targeted by a foe’s one-ally attack if there is another ally available to target.) effect, 50% boost to Earth allies’ C.A. damage, 10% boost to Earth allies’ C.A. damage cap, and Earth allies gain Charge Bar (10%) at end of turn.
Can I Yang Too?
Full-force 500% counter upon taking damage (3 hits).
(Amplify (Seraphic modifier) counterattack damage based on how low Vikala’s HP is.)
  • Team wide double strike pairs well with all the one turn assassins in Earth.
  • Provides no other buffs which hurts the full potential of that.

Mother Earth’s Love
At end of turn, to Earth allies who didn’t attack:

Limitless Gold
Upon activating a Fated Chain:
Restore 40% of Earth allies’ HP (Healing cap: 5000).
2-turn cut to Earth allies’ debuff durations.
  • Strong targetable buff offering offensive and defensive utility with indefinite duration.
  • Assassin every other turn with The Gold’s Foundation makes her good for longer setups like NM200.
  • Great for V2 FA setups thanks to her assassin activating on anyone who guards.

Eterno Tesoro

All allies gain Bonus Earth DMG (10%, 3.5T) and Hyped (1.5T).
Saintly Veil
All Earth allies gain Saintly Veil.

    • Cooldown is pretty high at 12, but it lowers by one for every three yellow skills pressed.
  • Has two sets of stacks.
    • Rubrum is gained based on the total number of red skills on the frontline at battle start as well as one per every three red skills pressed.
    • At max stacks, she gains 20% bonus damage and autocasts her skill 1 Book of Beating Heat, Page 78 on normal attacks. This is particuarly helpful for buff heavy bosses as it dispels.
    • Flavium is gained based on the total number of yellow skills on the frontline at battle start as well as one per every three yellow skills pressed.
    • When maxed, she deals 3 hit flurry and her skill 2 also gains a massive 100k supp for one turn.
  • When both stacks are maxed, she can use her skill 3 Book of Awakening, Page 999 once for a free teamwide auto attack with 30% echo and 3 hit flurry for a massive damage turn. While it can only be used once, the impact of it will greatly speed up battles.

  • Her skill 2 Close of Dawn / Together as Ever provides a strong set of buffs to her and the next person in line. On the second hit, this provides 40% perp ATK, GDA, 100% TA, 20% cap up, 20% normal amp, and a 2 hit skill nuke after autos.
  • Instant ATK with echo on her skill 3 And Ever is great for hit count, TA, or damage omens.
  • Her skill 1 Close of Dawn / Together as Ever ios excellent both for debuff omens as well as the debuffs themselves with 6 turns of 25% local ATK down, 25% local DEF down, and 100% local DATA down all being excellent. On top of them, it infliicts 2 turns of Twilight Terror which prevents charge bar from filling and special attacks reducing the amount of omens you will need to deal with.

  • Provides strong teamwide buffs on his skill 2 Earth Crash III including 20% echoes for increase hit counts and capping incoming water damage to 10k to make tanking any omen easier.

  • At 150 gains all ally 100% debuff resistance and dispel cancel on chain burst which is every turn in a Kengo setup. A lot of newer HL raids will still debuff through the resistance.
