With time before the next GW, I wanted to put together a short guide on how to prepare for the upcoming GW.
Colossus
To start, let us cover the weapons needed for Colossus grids. The following are the most core set of weapons to have.
- 3 Colossus Cane Omegas
- 2 Nilakanthas
- 3 ATK Benbenets
- 4 Ancient Ecke Sachss
- 1 ATK, 2-3 SPC Exo Maitrah Karuna
- 1 Ray of Zhuque Malus
- 1 Sword of Valorblaze
- 1 Scythe of Renunciation
- 1 Worldvexing Angelos
The canes and nilas are both geared towards burst setups. They provide a decent mix of mods when put together. AES is for FA strategies with the crit and enmity working great for extended fights.
Exo Maitrah Karuna is an excellent mainhand on the level of a grand. At the very least you want an ATK copy as it the best MH for any manadiver setup. Up to three SPC can be slotted in grids as well. Mostly grids will only be able to slot two but three still sees use if you can’t Rebuild a Revans weapon.
Onto the more situational weapons.
- 0-2 ATK Al-Abads
- 1-2 Sword of Pallas Militis
- 1 Heat of The Sun
Al-Albad is an excellent weapon for charge attack focused setups like any CA OTK or for Kengo FA. Sword of Pallas Militis both is a good EX source for AES grids as well great source for TA for auto focused OTK. Heat of the Sun is another source of cap up at ULB. Magna might not need it but it will be a good thing to have available.
Now onto weapons locked behind rank 200.
- 1 Ultima Axe
- 1 -3 ATK, 0-2 DEF Extinction Blade
- ATK Extinction Blade Mk II if possible.
- 0-1 Refrain of Blazing Vigor
The highest priority is getting a ULB ultima. Ultima Axe will generally be the most useful one for this GW but having more than that will be beneficial.
As for Mugen’s weapons, the bow’s usefulness is generally limited due to the easy of capping the normal cap with World weapons. Extinction Blade edges out in terms of raw damage thanks to having a ATK mod. You will want up to three depending on how many Lord of Flames you have. Mugen Sword will be the best option to replace them.
As for DEF awakening for FA, neither weapon offers that much. So Extinction Blade pulls out slightly ahead for FA thanks to its ATK mod. One more thing to note with DEF awakening, the upgrade from awakening 15 to 20 is very minimal so focus on the ATK ones.
And lastly the draconic weapon will be used for the fastest FA setups for NM200. If manual clears of NM200 for magna are viable, they may also likely slot it.
And from the gacha there are two weapons to look out for.
- 1-3 Lord of Flames
- 1-2 Crimson Scales
Getting one of each will be a huge benefit not only for the weapons themselves but also the characters they are attached to. More info on the characters will be later.
Agni
As for Agni, there are two weapons that remain dominant. Paired with the staples of opus and seraphic/ultima, they take up 7 of the total weapon slots.
- 3 Lord of Flames
- 2 Crimson Scales
- 1 Sword of Valorblaze
- 1 Scythe of Renunciation
- 1 Scythe of Repudiation
- 1 Ultima Axe
- 1 Worldvexing Angelos
As for the three remaining slots , these will typically be filled either by Mortality Swords, Ixabas, or Fists of Destructions. The first two will typically be the strongest.
For Mugen Sword you’d want:
- 2 ATK Extinction Blade Mk IIs
For the Ixaba variant, you want access to the folllowing weapons.
- 2 Ixaba
Now for crit.
While the crit setup is worse, it’s a solid option if the other options are unavailable. Additionally, it outperforms Ixaba for FA setups so FA players might want to lean this way.
What to Spark
Before GW, there will be two more legfests and two more flashes. Barring new character releases, the following are the main characters you want to aim for.
Percival
The highest priority spark is by far Percival (Grand). He is an incredibly powerful burst enabler thanks to his skill 3 Koenig Dekret
900% Fire damage to all foes (Damage cap: ~1,020,000).
All Fire allies gain Fire ATK Up (100%, 1T) and Bonus Fire DMG (1 time) (30%, 1T).
All Fire allies instantly perform a normal attack without using up a turn.
(Consumes King’s Blaze after activation.)
providing instant teamwide autos like tag team paired with 30% echoes and 100% fire attack. He will be used from OTK to NM200.
On top of this, he comes with Lord of Flames. Each copy provides 40% ATK, 25% DEF, and 7% special cap when 4 or more of the same weapon type are equipped. The requirement is very easy to meet for both Magna and Primal making it a must slot for every grid.
Mika
Second in priority is Michael. Like Percival, she will be slotted in every team but this time it’s due to her passive that provides a 20% boost to magna and primal skills that takes effect even from the backline. As a frontline character, she is very strong for NM150 and NM200 thanks to her providing instant charge for Wilnas.
Also her weapon Crimson Scale is fire’s version of Pain and Suffering. Coming with 50k supp, 7% cap up, and axe voltage, there is no reason to not slot one if you get it.
Wilnas
And in third is Wilnas, fire’s main bruiser. Wilnas has very hard hitting auto attacks thanks to a passive 50% normal attack seraphic mod as well as an auto nuke after attacking that grants 2 turn assassin. His main drawnback is that he can only single attack without the TA buff from his charge attack. Thankfully fire has multiple targetable instant charge characters that make setting him up easy.
Cain
The other character of note in this period is Cain (Holiday). He is an excellent buffer that would be great for NM95 and NM150. However, old Holiday characters don’t get a rate up outside a 3% banner so it is not reccomended to spark him and to put hope in free pulls instead.
What to Suptix
As for suptix options, here are some notable releases from the last couple of years to consider.
Ragazzo
Ragazzo is an excellent short term burst character packing GTA and auto nukes. His skills are also all very solid especially for FA setups. The main drawback to him as that he consumes his stacks very quickly and once they are up he becomes a lot weaker.
Anderson
Anderson is another nukes on autos character but without passive GTA. He can still get a 1 turn GTA via his skill 2. He also an all ally sub which would great if the boss has multiple hard hitting triggers. This helps make him a better option for longer fights.
Hekate
FA gamers are more likely to find use in Hekate. She is a very strong crest based skill damage dealer and support. Veil and Wind cut in her buff pool will be excellent for NM150 and NM200.
Anna
Anna provides 1% skill cap per Singed stack making her a solid backline option for Percy +Wilnas setups. In addition, if something goes wrong in a longer burst, she can quickly do large damage thanks to the Singed stacks already being built up from Percy and Wilnas.
Also, I am legally obligated to mention Anna where ever possible.
Summons
Red Hare and, for primal, Wilnas will both see plenty of use. If you need either or want to save a sunstone, getting a summon is also a great choice.
New Content
As for upcoming content, December is a busy month and there will be a bunch of changes and releases coming up. I’ll go over some of the changes we can expect and how they may affect things.
The World
The World raid is expected to be released in December. More than likely this will come with an FLB for the World weapons. The most likely upgrade on them is dropping the Arcarum only requirement from the skills. If that is the case, Worldvexing Angelos will be likely to see use in order to boost Wilnas’s autos further.
Alanaan FLB
Alanaan’s FLB is set for January and is likely to drop before or during GW. Ideally this FLB will make his skill 2 easier to use and improve his burst potential all around. We won’t know til it drops for sure but it would be a good idea to prefarm since if it does drop before or during GW there will be no time to farm after.
New Releases
There are also three new sets of character releases before GW: one set of Holiday characters, one grand banner, and the NY banner that typically contains the new Zodiac, a new grand, and a broken summon. With the trend of major releases right before Guild Wars starts, it is very likely at least one of these will have a new character that will shake things up.

Ragazzo section should probably mention his main purpose, which is to go crazy for 2 turns and then die. His skills don’t really ‘get weaker’ if you’re using him as he’s meant to be used, by pressing his skill 3. That’s the intended use case, not much reason to slot him if you’re not doing that.
IMO very nice read and very helpful! I usually just google JP guides, but having an ENG one accessible is so nice! I also like checklists for these kind of things lol
